The two candidates met with about 50 local residents. Ms. Findley, whose home town is Dexter, IA, formerly served as Congressman King's chief of staff. In contrast to the current attorney general, Brenna stressed that she would defend the laws of the State of Iowa when chailengened in court. When activist groups challenged Iowa's marriage law in Polk County, the current attorney general did not defend the existing Iowa law that defined marriage as between one man and one woman. The current attorney general also failed to represent Iowa when the Polk County case was appealed to the Iowa Supreme Court. Congressman King spoke in support of Ms. Findley.
